of what he promised. unemployment is higher today than when barack obama took office. >> we have our dynamic jobs report duo, bernstein and mauri maurice. that's a good number. how is it? >> it's a good number when you consider the past couple of months moved up on the payrolls 84,000. one of the things i always like to do when we talk about this is smooth out the monthly noise in the data by taking ang average. if you look at the average over the past four months and the employment growth has picked up, it's 170,000 per month. if you look at the second quarter when we were in a definite slower job growth regime, we added 70,000 per month. what you hear the president reflecting on there and it's worn out in the numbers is acceleration. a faster pace of job growth that's a good thing. you mentioned the tick up in the unemployment rate. that increase is insignificant, but more importantly this time it's a function of more people coming into the labor market. a bunch of them got jobs, but more people came in than were employed. if that persists, it's actually a good sign suggesting that

horrific economic collapse, painfully slow recovery. has president obama done enough to save his job? we'll have the answer in just four days. welcome to a special jobs report edition of "cnn newsroom." i'm ali velshi reporting live from toledo, ohio, the state that may decide this election. >> welcome to our viewers around the world as well. i'm christine romans in new york. we just got a look at what may be the last final political football in this election. the u.s. labor department released the final monthly jobs report before the election and ali, it was a solid report. >> yeah. 171,000 positions were created in october. we were anticipating 125,000. we were also anticipating, at least the economists we spoke to were experiencing a bump up in the unemployment rate from 7.8% to 7.9%. that is what we saw. the two prior months were revised. that typically happens but they were revised higher. separate survey, as we said, deals with these two numbers. you'll see these headlines, 171,000 jobs created, 7.9% unemployment rate. you'll see them all day and all weekend. both president

anti-islam video. they claim the president obama pressed upon the american people and upon the united nations general assembly. he was push hard to explain what caused them to push the youtube video three days after that attack. the chief said simply he was not at the betray -- petraeus briefing and had nothing to say. there was demonstrable and incurable evidence of their involvement and no evidence of anytng other than a terrorist attack. and the administration continued to press its false tale, despite fox news reporting and they reported within 24 hours, u.s. intelligence agencies monomania that the attack was an act of terrorism with ties to al qaeda, but had also identified and located one of the leaders of the attak. despite warnings hours before, state department e-mails reviewed two hours into the attack that the administration had been alerted that the terrorist group al sharia was already taking credit for the siege. and then the statement was made just 14 hours after that attack. >> you are rigt that this is not a situation that was exactly the same as what happened in egy
